Davis Thompson Can Dunk... Who Cares?
Our latest episode of Pull Hook Golf podcast had us questioning the relevance of multi-sport athleticism in the world of golf. Buttsy, in his usual candid style, sparked a debate by asking, 'Who gives a flying shit about that?'
Matt Cook joined in, expressing his disregard for the fact that Davis Thompson, a promising golfer, can dunk a basketball. 'Let's keep it in our lane of golf,' he said, emphasizing the need to focus on skills that directly translate to the game.
Buttsy, however, couldn't resist bringing up an upcoming basketball prodigy, a 'dinosaur' who's been growing non-stop. 'He was 76 last year. He is 79 this year, and he's not stopping growing.'
This brought up an interesting question - Does being athletically gifted in other sports have any bearing on the golf course? Or should we be focusing solely on golf-specific skills and performance?
